Misson and activities:

To provide information, inspiration and opportunity to people with disabilities, their friends, family and professionals working in their service while promoting their full integration into all aspects of community life.

Our non governmental, non-profit, organization works at the national level.

We consider ourselves as part of the international Independent Living and Disability Rights Movement.

Our organization is mainly run, controlled and represented by disabled people.

We have expertise, or are interested in cooperating with other organizations, in the areas of:

The Canadian Abilities Foundation publishes 45,000 copies, quarterly of ABILITIES - Canada's Lifestyle Magazine for People with Dsiabilities. We have developed and maintain ENABLELINK - our resource-rich website with over 40,000 visitors monthly. We publish the DIRECTORY OF DISABILITY ORGANIZATIONS IN CANADA with over 5,000 listings. We distribute THE ENABLELINKER to over 5,500 individuals who request it monthly. And, we have developed and maintain ACCESS GUIDE CANADA - an online inventory of accessible businesses and services in communities across Canada.

We may be able to refer disabled persons to wheelchair accessible housing or transportation or other services in our city.

We have traineeships or volunteer positions that people with disabilities are welcome to apply for.

People planning to come to our city are welcome to contact us to find out about accessibility and services in Toronto. We may be able to help with information.
