The Able Trust

Misson and activities:

The Able Trust, also known as the Florida Governor's Alliance for the Employment of Citizens with disabilities, has a mission to provide Floridians with disabilities fair employment opportunities through fundraising, grant programs, public awareness and education. Since its establishment in 1990, The Able Trust has awarded over $15 million in grants to individuals with disabilities and Florida nonprofit agencies for employment-related purpose. Its programs enable over 2,000 Floridians with disabilities to enter the workforce each year.

Our non governmental, non-profit, organization works at the local level.

Our organization is to some degree run, controlled and represented by disabled people.

We have expertise, or are interested in cooperating with other organizations, in the areas of:

Grant making to Florida, 501c3 organizations that provide direct employment outcomes to Florida citizens with disabilities;
Youth Leadership Forum that provides career and leadership training to high school students with disabilities
High School/High Tech that provides career development to high school students with disabilities

We have traineeships or volunteer positions that people with disabilities are welcome to apply for.

People planning to come to our city are welcome to contact us to find out about accessibility and services in Tallahassee. We may be able to help with information.
