Training opportunities for people with disabilities at government agencies in Ireland
Ireland:
Fifteen key government departments (ministries) were contacted for input into the baseline. Full information was delivered in relation to the recruitment process. This is centrally delivered through the public appointment service (P.S.A.) There is a centralised recruitment body for the civil service in Ireland and all recruitment procedures are done through the P.S.A. The Irish civil service is relatively small with total of 750 people working in the Irish civil service with a disability and 1/3 of these acquired disabilities after starting employment.

| Public Appointment Service - Recruitment into the Civil Service in Ireland is done through the Public Appointments Service in a Centrelised body responsible for all entry into the Civil Service.
