Advice and Testimonial

Published wiith kind permission of www.disabilityworld.org

As an American obsessed with avoiding saturated fats, England was a trial. My wife, Lyndi, and I found mayonnaise and butter in abundance at any restaurant or pub. Thankfully, house trade in an English village had a wheelchair accessible kitchen. For the first time in my life I could easily look into the pots while I cooked. The sink also had clearance for my wheelchair. Everything was at my height.

The Natural Sciences (biological/medical sciences) have a huge impact on society and within societies the biggest impacts are felt among disadvantaged/marginalized group. Among these groups we can count women, disabled people, ethnic minorities and indigenous people to name a few. I will look at the characteristic disability for the rest of the report but most of my reasoning and arguments can be extended to every disadvantaged group.

15 people live and work in the comunita "Lamezia-Terme", half of which are disabled persons. Many of them are wheelchair users.
