Misson and activities:

Lebenshilfe Wien is the Vienna Parents Association for Persons with Intellectual (Developmental) Disabilities. It is founded and run by parents and advocates. It works for the inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities in all ages and all levels of society. It both provides services (parent-to-parent counselling, advocacy, workshops, group homes and independent living support) and support and advocacy for persons with intellectual disabilities. It is part of our national network, Lebenshilfe Austria, and Inclusion International, the International League of Socities for Persons with Mental Handicap.

Our non governmental, non-profit, organization works at the local level.

We consider ourselves as part of the international Independent Living and Disability Rights Movement.

Our organization is not run, controlled and represented by disabled people.

We have expertise, or are interested in cooperating with other organizations, in the areas of:

Assisting persons with intellectual disabilities.
Awareness raising.
Independent Living Skills Training.
We have cooperated with organizations in other countries before:
Cooperation with similar parents organizations, arrranged through our international umbrella organization Inclusion International based in Brussels.
